Without electricity again...

When I was a teenager, this was the coolest show ever. Then it wasn't. Now it's back. From Billboard via Yahoo:
MTV's on-again, off-again Unplugged program will return in a big way this summer, with new episodes featuring the Police, Bon Jovi, Kenny Chesney, Mary J. Blige and John Mayer. This time around, however, the show will be rolled out on a variety of related channels and platforms, including VH1, CMT and MTV.com.

Bon Jovi will usher in the 2007 edition of the series beginning June 22 on MTV. The next two evenings, VH1 and CMT will air a version of "Unplugged" specifically tailored to those channels' audiences.
Mayer and Blige may be worth the watch... wish they'd pick better artists and go back and release all the old ones on DVDs.

I would watch the Police unplugged. If Sting hadn't dedicated himself to crafting the lamest, most sterile sound possible for the past decade and a half or so, I'd be way more excited that they had reformed than I am. But the Police were more than fairly rocking.

And Mayer will be worth watching as long he performed exactly 0 songs off of Heavier Things. not even like .1 songs. Zero EXACTLY.
